Need advice about deciding to go to Costa Rica with my High School spanish class!!?

Next Spring Break, of 2010, my High School spanish class is going on a 7 day trip to Costa Rica. I haven't decided if i want to do. Please tell me what you think about what I should do and if you've been there, let me know what you liked and what Costa Rica is like. I'm most scared of the wildlife, being without my parents and with people I don't really know, and a lot of other stuff. P.S I went to D.C with my 8th grade class in 2008 and I cried leaving my mom at the airport and barely made it there. That was a 4 day trip and I don't know if I can do it again, let alone, going out of the country for the first time in my life without people I know... Costa Rica is a safe place to travel and the people are very friendly and helpful. It is beautiful and you will benefit from experiencing a culture unlike your own. There is no reason at all to be scared of the wildlife unless you plan on camping on the rain forest floor on your own!


You don't say what year you are in high school so, it is hard to say if you will handle being away from your parents well. That is for you to say. If you are to go anywhere outside the country, CR is a good choice assuming you have good supervision. Again, it is a beautiful pace with friendly people who will be welcoming and help you when they can!Need advice about deciding to go to Costa Rica with my High School spanish class!!?
You should definatly go!!! I just got back from there and it was the best place ever. I went there on a school trip and i really enjoyed it!! There was so much to do and the people are soo friendly!! Costa Rica is really small and they have alot of mountains and its sorta chilly up in the mountains. I think youll really like it there!!!

Costa Rica is an absolutely amazing place. I normally suggest that everyone goes there, but your a different case. It sounds like you aren't comfortable traveling and get home sick easily. If 4 days in DC was hard for you, 7 days out of the country will probably be miserable. And you can't really appreciate the total coolness of Costa Rica if you are miserable with being home sick the whole time. I still think you should go, but wait until you are in college or early 20's before you go. Not everyone loves to travel, and maybe won't grow up to be one who does.
You definitely have to go down to Costa Rica it is an amazing place, the people is so friendly you will be like home. I had been with a lot of students that had come with their spanish classes , you know what! contact Fabio Molina he had worked with students groups so he should have some names and email addresses so you can email some of the students that had travel to Costa Rica , they can tell you what is like to be here for 7 or even more days.
