I have been taking vicodin for several months now. I want to stop and I am trying to stop. My body aches and I am very emotional/irritable. Is there anything I can do to help the withdrawals and how long will they last? PLEASE no ugly comments, I am a person with a debilitating disease. I never thought this would be me and I am so sad it is. I just need advice, not condemnation.Advice about Vicodin?
First of all - congrats on having the courage to confront the problem head on. I have a debilitating injury and an illness that causes me pain, and understand.
1.) You can take less and less until you ';cycle down to extinction,'; until you can go without.
2.) You can go to your Dr. and ask for something less strong to help you get over the withdrawal. I recommend the second choice. It is a very good idea to be honest with your Dr. and let him/her know up front what is going on. You aren't alone in this - and they can help you to manage your pain without addictions. They are there for you, and are on your side!
You will be in my thoughts and prayers as you conquer this.
Good luck to you.Advice about Vicodin?
Go to your DR Soboxone will take care of your symptoms. Vicodin is very addictive. You have done nothing wrong so just get the help that you deserve to get free of this.
I am in the same boat as you are. The best advice I received from my back doctor was to wean myself off of the pills. I try to keep myself as busy with things that make me happy. Hard to do when your back hurts. That is what the dr. told me to do is wean and keep busy. I know not much help but hope it gives some help.
