My son is almost 23 months, we want to start potty training him. Should I go with pull-ups during the early stages of potty training until he starts getting the hang of it or should I just start letting him use underwear while he is learning. I've tried just taking his diaper off when I take him to the potty, it is such a hassle he gets very irritated with having to lay down while I take his diaper off and have to put it back on, so the diapers have got to go. Could someone give me some tips and advice on this and things that worked for you while potty training your little ones?Advice about potty training?
Go with ';big boy'; underwear. Let him pick out his favorite characters on the underwear. Make this a super big thing for him to accomplish....treats %26amp; so forth ..... my son is now potty trained and he recently turned 3. And making this potty training a huge ordeal seemed to really work for us. Pull ups seemed to be ok at night, but they were a waste of money for us. Good Luck and make it a big deal , it can be pretty funny at times :)Advice about potty training?
take him to the toilet to pee at regular intervals and you shouls anticipate when his his time to poop and make him sit on the toilet. like my son goes to pop as soon as he wakes up in the morning and at 4 after his feed at 3.30.

My oldest two(3%26amp;4) we just let them wear ';big girl underwear'; while we were in the process of potty training them. Pull Ups just seemed like a waste of money to me. It worked great for both of them.
My child is potty training right now also. I am leaving his pants off while in the house. It seems that every time I put underwear, training pants, or pull-up on him, he pees in it. If I leave him with his pants off, he is more aware of using the potty. Only once in the past 7 days did he pee a couple of drops on the floor. (that cleaned right up with white vinegar and water). Now, he says, ';I need to go to the potty.'; Today, I took him to mothers-day-out and he told the teacher he needed to potty. Boys need lots of praise and encouragement. I also have a cool Darth Vader costume on the counter that acts as an incentive. He has to stay dry all week. Good Luck. Patience....patience....and more patience to you!
my son is 27 months old, i used pull ups at first till he got a little better at it. i was tired of cleaning pee off my floor. then when he was only having 1-2 accidents a day, i went to undies. they helped me to transition him to know how to take his undies off to use the potty. but he still isn't fully potty trained. so i still use them occasionally. i also suggest the cold pullups. when he pees in them it will get cold, not too cold. but they helped me alot, with him understanding that he had peed on himself, and that when he did, it was going to be cold.
I am in the same position with my 24 month old she is just learning to use the potty. Well for the past 4 days she has been just using training pants or regular panties and it is really working. Today we went to do some erins and she told me twice she had to go potty and she did and she only had one accident early this morning while we were at home. I know how frustrating it is but keep at it they all of a sudden get it one day! Good Luck!
I never used pull ups they seem to confuse the child. but i do have a good potty training tip for you try using food coloring in the toilet -just use a couple drops either red or blue . when they pee in the toilet red of course will turn orange and blue will turn green they will have alot of fun with it.
My daughter turned two in nov of last year and she just potty trained. It doesn't happen from one day to the next. I started by changing her while she was standing up. This way she was an active participant instead of a passivef one. She started to realize what I was doing and I was showing her where I put the poo poo and then have her help flush it. I made this part of our daily routine. Then I strted to taker her to the potty even after she went in the diaper. soon she was noticing herself going and then taking her diaper off after she went. At first I didn't know what was going on and she was driving me crazy. She kept taking it off I kept putting it on. Soon I just gave up and took the diaper off completely. She had several acccidents before she maded the connection Soon she started to pee in the potty accidently because I was taking her to sit on it 5 times a day. I cheared her on whe she was successfult. Shen she wasn't I would take the diaper off and sit her on the toylett. She soon was asking me when she had to go. So now she is potty trained. I never used training pants or diapers.
Why don't you change the diaper while he's standing up? It's not really that hard to do. Pullups are expensive. I would advise using diapers or pullups while he's getting used to it and when he's going in the potty more frequently, switch to underwear but be prepared to do a lot of laundry!
Beiong naked worked best for both my son and daughter. Pull-ups were great at night and out (no messy accidents) but at home they both hated the feeling of urine going down their legs and after a few days of this would go to the bathroom everytime. (Lots of cleaning to do that first week, let me tell you!)
